Product Care

My beverage left an odor in my cup, what do I do?

Occasionally (although rarely) a drink may leave a slight odor in a cup. Certain smelly drinks or acidic beverages such as coffee may leave a slight odor, but that can be remedied with a thorough washing or soaking your product in a bath of water & white vinegar or water & baking soda. A fresh slice of lemon left overnight can help too.

My dishwasher detergent leaves marks, what should I do?

We recommend using dishwasher soap without phosphates as those can tend to leave spots. Spots can sometimes be tricky as they may be caused by the hardness of your water instead of your soap. Rinsing with hot water does the trick every time though.

If your detergent leaves a white residue, we recommend trying the following:

Soaking overnight in water and white vinegar

Soaking overnight in water and baking soda

Allowing your cups to air dry

I have a cup that is having issues with staining, what do I do?

We don’t use any toxic sealants for our Silipint cups so sometimes (though rarely) the silicone can stain with certain acidic drinks, such as coffee. The best way to avoid this is to choose a cup color that won't stain with your drink. You can also reduce staining by immediately cleaning you cup after use.  If you have a stain that seems to have set in we recommend soaking your cup in 3% Hydrogen Peroxide for 24 hours.  If these tricks don’t work and you're unhappy with a staining situation, we will replace your product, minus shipping charges. Is Silicone safe for the microwave?

Nuking is 100% tolerated. You can boil water, heat up soup, reheat your coffee, soft or hard-boil an egg, or bake a brownie.  

BE CAREFUL though to carefully remove your cup from the microwave as your liquids may be quite HOT! 

Silicone is heat resistant so your drink may not feel very hot through your cup.

Grilling, Baking, and Boiling?

Yes, you read that right. Silipints are safe to be placed on a grill, though they should be placed off of direct heat (no open flames), as the silicone will char a bit if it gets too hot. 

They can also be used to bake things in the oven like cupcakes and brownies. However, you should not broil them or put them on a burner directly. 

And lastly, you can absolutely boil water in them. Perfect for making a poached egg while you’re camping or hot tea at home. Made from 100% food-grade silicone, they’re safe within temperatures ranging from -58 F to 450° F.

How do I clean Silipint products?

Our products are easy to clean and can take a beating! Rinse with mild detergent soap and warm water; throw them in the dishwasher; or take a garden hose to ’em; All of the above are acceptable wash methods.\u2028

Is silicone BPA-free?

Yes! Silipints are BPA Free. What’s great about BPA free sippy cups for kids- unbreakable, safe, easy to hold- is also great about Silipints for grown-ups! Does Silicone contain BPA? It sure doesn’t! The resilient, flexible material we use to make Silipints is 100% BPA free. Be warned, however, that it is not free of fun, wit, usefulness or cheer, so watch your consumption. 

What is BPA and why should I care?

Since the 1960s, BPA or bisphenol A, has been used to make certain plastics and resins, particularly those used for food storage. According to the Mayo Clinic, exposure to BPA “is a concern because of possible health effects of BPA on the brain, behavior and prostate gland of fetuses, infants and children. Additional research suggests a possible link between BPA and increased blood pressure.” Silipint could be considered the World Headquarters of BPA free cups. One additional point of concern about BPA is that manufacturers have figured out that consumers don’t want products containing BPA, especially as some regulations are now in place limiting their use. This has led some producers to seek alternate chemicals for their plastic materials so they can still use the desirable “BPA Free” label. Phthalates are often added to create “squeezy” plastics, and some manufacturers are adding BPS (bisphenol-S) which could be even more toxic than BPA.Our FDA-approved, 100% food-grade silicone is also free of BPS, PVC, lead, latex, phthalates, nitrosamines, formaldehyde, and other toxins found in petroleum-based plastics.

What is silicone?

The main ingredient in silicone is silica or, in a really simple word, sand. In the earth’s crust, silicates are the second most common element, which means it’s an extremely plentiful element rather than a scarce, hard-to-find resource. Is silicone BPA-free? Of course, it is! BPA is a manmade chemical while silicone is made up almost entirely of naturally occurring elements. 

Why are Silipints good for the environment and you?

What is the difference between knock-off silicone and Silipint’s platinum-cured silicone?

Silipints use platinum-cured silicone which is the cleaner way of curing silicone. Combined with our use of 100% food-grade silicone, our standards pass not only FDA-ratings in the US but even higher for LFGB standards in Germany. Knock-off silicone often uses cheap additives or fillers because platinum-curing is more expensive. However, those fillers are usually toxic and unsafe - especially when being used with food and beverage. Also, knock-off silicone with these additives in it could have a very pungent smell similar to formaldehyde.

Specifically, what is silicone made of?

Let’s get nerdy. Silipint products are made from 100% food-grade silicone, which consists of four, readily available and abundant elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and silicon – the second-most abundant element in the earth’s crust (found in sands & dusts, for example). These elements are heated to create a liquid-like substance which is then cured, hardened, and formed into the desired shape.

What’s so great about silicone?

What’s not!? Silicone is a miracle product in that it’s non-porous, non-toxic, contains no BPA, BPS, PVC, lead, latex, phthalates, nitrosamines, formaldehyde, or other toxins found in petroleum-based plastics. 

It can also withstand temperatures from -58 F to 450° F. While you can put a Silipint in an oven, boil water in it, and microwave the heck out of it, you should not put Silipints on direct flames, a burner, or try to broil them. It’s flexible, packable, and light; you can freeze it; nuke it; throw it through the dishwasher. 

Since our silicone products are unbreakable and reusable, our Mother Earth loves them too. Furthermore, silicone is derived from abundant, easily accessible elements (no petroleum products that need to be drilled for). While silicone has the ability to undergo a lifetime of use, if it’s deposited in a landfill incinerator it will be broken back down into inorganic, harmless substances such as amorphous silica, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

Will my new Silipint have an odor?

By nature, food-grade silicone is odorless, non-porous and tasteless. However, rarely our products put off a ‘new car’ type smell typical of rubber materials. This smell does dissipate with time, however leaving a fresh slice of lemon in your Silipint overnight can help too.


Are Silipint products safe to drink from?

Silipint products are free of BPA, BPS, PVC, lead, latex, phthalates, nitrosamines, formaldehyde, and other toxins or carcinogens found in petroleum-based plastics. Our 100% platinum food-grade silicone and colorants are all fully tested to be non-toxic & approved by strict US and EU standards and regulations. Quality control inspections are utilized both internationally and in the USA to ensure Silipint products meet and exceed all FDA, CA Prop 65 and LFGB standards, rules and regulations, as well as maintain design uniformity and optimal product quality.

Are your products made in the USA?

Silipint products are designed in Bend, Oregon and responsibly produced in China.

Our product is also artfully screen printed and distributed in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Quality control inspections are utilized both internationally and in the USA to ensure Silipint products meet and exceed all FDA standards, rules and regulations, as well as maintain design uniformity providing optimal product quality. Our products are ethically produced in factories that are both ISO 9001 and 12001 compliant for environmental and labor practices, and we have company representatives and third parties visit and audit our operations in China regularly.\u2028

What’s with the Patent on silicone drinkware?

All Silipint products are registered trademarks and are patented by the USPTO. Silipint’s utility patent, US8469225B2, covers a broad range of semi-rigid, non-collapsible, silicone drinkware.

Why does my Tie-Dye cup look different than the picture?

Every tie-dye cup is unique, like snowflakes! Colors are twisted to form variations in the tie-dye swirls. From the patterns to the way the colors lay next to each other, all of this is unique to each cup. There are no two the same.

All Silipint products carry a lifetime satisfaction guarantee, minus shipping charges. If you feel your product is unsatisfactory in any way, we’ll replace it or give you credit up to the invoice cost of the item (minus shipping charges).

Does Silipint only do drinkware? What about future products?

What’s NOT in Silipint products?

Bad stuff does not apply! There’s no BPA, BPS, lead, latex, phthalates, petroleum (plastics), toxins, PVC, nitrosamines, formaldehyde, or anything else you don’t want in your system.  There is simply only 100% Food Grade Platinum cured Silicone in our products.

Are Silipints environmentally friendly?

You betcha. Silipint products are unbreakable, reusable and, if done properly, recyclable. But again, why would you ever want or need to recycle a product that will never wear out? Silipint products are also eco-friendly because of what they’re made from: silicone is derived from abundant, easily accessible elements from the earth (not petroleum). If they ever do end up in a landfill incinerator, silicone will break back down into inorganic, harmless substances such as amorphous silica, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. 

And finally, since Silipint products are unbreakable and reusable, the environmental costs associated with all manufacturing, transportation, and packaging are significantly reduced since they’ll only need to be done once. Cheers to that! 

Are they too squishy? Will I spill my drink?

Great question. Silipint products are indeed malleable & packable, but they’re sturdier than you think! A 12oz or 14oz pour sits safely in a Silipint, especially if held from the bottom or middle of the glass. Shots are sturdier yet, but when you really squeeze em, like, if you’re trying to get the rest of your Jell-O shot out, they will flex. 

How do I fold my Aqua-fur Dog Bowl?

1. Turn your Aqua-Fur Dog Bowl inside out and flatten to align the handle loops at the top.

2. Fold the right side over to the middle and repeat with the left side overlapping the two sides (folding into thirds).

3. When you have it folded up like a cone, take the tip area at the bottom and bring towards the top.

4. Grab the handle (there are two) that is on the opposite side of where you're working... pull it over the top to cover the cone area and secure... and there you go!

Put it in your pocket or backpack and get going!

What is the difference between your silicone lids & how do they work on different cups?

We have a 16oz/22oz Lid that fits overtop of the 16oz Pint and 22oz Bomber. We also have an 8oz Lid which fits overtop of the 8oz Half Pint.

How long does a beverage (or food) stay hot or cold in Silipint cups (or food containers)?

Due to many variables that can affect thermal retention, there is not an exact amount of time that our cups and food containers will keep beverages or food warm or cold. However, because our cups and food containers are microwave- and freezer-safe, it's easy to quickly get your beverage to the desired temperature.

Yes via USPS Priority Flat-Rate shipping. These orders should arrive in 5-7 business days and contain tracking.

Where and how do you ship online orders?

Orders typically ship 2-5 day Priority via USPS. You’ll receive Tracking once it has shipped.

Our shipping teams normally ship orders within 1-2 business days, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, EST, depending on stock on hand. We are closed Sat & Sun and major U.S. holidays.

Estimated arrival dates are for domestic orders placed today. Estimated arrival dates are not guaranteed. Weather delays and other unforeseen circumstances may impact delivery time.

Our warehouse is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. For some orders, we ship UPS Ground.

How do I qualify for Free Shipping on my web order?

Silipint offers U.S. free standard ground shipping to all 50 United States, plus APO’s, on any orders placed on our website when the order subtotal is over $75 (after coupon discounts are applied).

Offer valid only on orders placed at silipint.com. Free Shipping does not apply to custom or bulk orders placed for wholesale and promotional accounts.

Offer is limited to stock on hand and backorder able items, is nontransferable and is not redeemable for cash.

Can I expedite my shipping?

We offer Next Day and 2-Day air via UPS at Checkout on our website orders. Please note, UPS does not ship to PO Boxes.

Does Silipint ship online orders outside of the US?

Currently, we ship web orders to addresses within the USA only.

What about Amazon orders? Can you help with a return or edit my Silipint Amazon order?

Unfortunately, all Amazon order inquiries and needs including returns must be taken care of through Amazon, as we are not able to assist with these.

How do I check my web order status, change my shipping or billing address, or my payment method?

When you log in to your account from your Dashboard you can click to change your account settings, view all orders in our database and update your address(es) or payment method(s). Please note that we switched platforms in October 2019 so any orders placed prior to then will not show up. You can call us if you’d like to review any past orders however.  

We aim to efficiently process all web orders through our system in 1-2 business days, and due to the volumes and timing constraints in our shipping department, in most cases, unfortunately, we cannot react quickly enough to accommodate changes in your order after it is placed online. However,  you are welcome to email us at support@silipint.com to see if we can accommodate your needs.

I don’t want to create an account for ordering on the website – how does Guest Checkout work?

No Account, No Problem! Just add the items you want to your cart. When you’re done shopping click your cart button, then at the bottom of the page click proceed to checkout and you’ll be prompted to either login or checkout as a guest.

I forgot which email I used in my last web order.

When you’re on the account page, scroll down to Register and input the email address you might have used, no need to enter a password at this time, click ‘Register’. At this time, we do not provide Gift Wrapping your Silipint order.

What is the Warranty policy on all Silipint products?

At Silipint, we take pride in our products and, when used as
intended, we warrant that our products will be free from defects in workmanship
and materials.

 

Our limited lifetime warranty does not cover damage or malfunctions caused by
normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, neglect, improper storage or handling,
abuse, acts of God, or other causes external to the product. Normal color
changes over extended time and use, including staining, are not warranted. The
warranty also does not cover defects caused by third-party modifications,
including customization not approved by Silipint.

 

We may make updates to products and colors over time and
will replace your product with a product we have available at the time of a
claim. We will make every effort to replace limited edition or discontinued
products with the same version but cannot guarantee their availability for
replacement.

 

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may
have other rights, which vary from State to State.

How do I make a return or an exchange for items I bought on your website?

If you are unsatisfied with your Silipint order in any way, you can return it within 30 days. Please email us at support@silipint.com and provide as much info about your order and product issue as possible.

For returns, we provide a prepaid shipping label. Once your returned items arrive at our warehouse, we’ll issue a refund for those items. Please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Can I get help redeeming a Coupon?

Sure thing! When you’re looking at your Cart there is a field to apply a coupon code, located below the Subtotal, Shipping and Tax in the upper part of your cart.

If it’s expired, we’re sorry but this coupon is no longer active.

Our online coupons do not apply to some custom products or items currently marked on sale, whether it’s for specific products or a sitewide sale (only on full-priced items). Shipping costs are factored after the coupon is applied. Generally, coupon codes cannot be used more than one time per person unless otherwise specified. 

It may take a while for your coupon code to be emailed to you.  Give us approximately 24-48 hours and make sure to check your spam or junk mail boxes to see if it may have landed there by mistake.

What are your Minimums for customized drinkware orders?

72 units minimum for all cups (Per cup size and per unique screen print design)

- Choose various cup colors in 24 piece minimums. For example, in a case pack (72 pcs) you can have up to 3 different cup colors with one screen setup fee.

40 units minimum for Dog Bowls (Per unique screen print design)

- Choose various colors of Bowls in 20 piece minimums. For example, in a case pack (40 pcs) you can have up to 2 different colors with one screen setup fee.

24 units minimum for Lids and Straws (our Lids and Straws cannot be customized)

- Choose 2 different colors, minimum 24 units per cup color

How do I customize Silipints?

Can I choose whatever color of ink I want to print on my cups?

We use PANTONE™ Solid Coated (PMS C) color matching and offer 30 colors free of charge. Exact color matches will cost $35. We match colors as closely as possible. As PMS colors are ink formulas for printing on paper, so absolute matches with silicone inks cannot be guaranteed. 

PMS color matching applies to frosted silicone only. When you print the same color ink on various colors of cups, the color of ink may look slightly different depending on the ink color and the cup color beneath it. Silicone inks are temperamental for humidity and pigment, and our expert team makes every effort to ensure high-quality color matching and even color coverage. We reserve the right to get “as close as humanly possible” and we strive to maintain the highest quality custom screen printing in the drinkware marketplace.\u2028

Can you customize lids and straws?

At this time we cannot customize with screen printing on our lids.

We can customize straws in volumes over 3,000 units with a 60-90 day lead time.

If you would like to order a custom color of silicone for your Silipint lids and/or straws, we require 1,008 piece minimum, and 60-90 day lead time. We cannot do tie-dyed straws, however.

Where do Silipints get screen printed? Do you have robots?

Silipints are normally printed in-house by our screen printing experts in Bend, Oregon or Indianapolis, Indiana. Large volume orders that allow longer lead times are printed overseas at our factories in China. Thorough quality checks are in place at all facilities to maintain color uniformity, clarity of design, quality of work, and close attention to detail. We do not have any robots. Each team member is critical to our company's success and customer satisfaction!

What ink is used and how are Silipints printed?

Silipint products are printed with silicone-based inks which form a permanent bond with the silicone. This means that logos and artwork will never wear off, scratch, chip, or fade. Silipint products are limited to one-color or two-color (max) prints and include a setup fee per color. On two-color printing, we cannot guarantee perfect alignment between the two colors; however, we can make suggestions on your design to ensure that the best registration between the two colors is achieved. We have a tolerance of +/- ?” color registration.\u2028


What products can I customize?

We offer customization for 22oz Bombers, 16 oz Pints, 12 oz Bases, 14 oz Stemless Wine Cups, 8 oz Half Pints, 5.5 oz Taster Bases, 1.5 oz Shots and our 1 L Aqua-Fur Dog Bowls.

We use FDA-approved silicone inks that permanently bond to the silicone. Each cup is screen printed by our in-house skilled screen printers.

Production

What are the turn times, or lead times, for custom orders?

For lead times, contact your Silipint sales representative.

After you contact our sales team for a quote, we will ask for any artwork you have available. If it is provided in one color vector .EPS format, we will provide a digital proof within 24 hours. If you do not have artwork, our design teams are standing by to assist, but this can add time to the turn-around. Production timelines are calculated only after you approve the artwork and sales order, and provide payment information. \u2028 

For large volume orders (over 1,008 units) that allow us to produce your order overseas can take anywhere between 60-90 days. For these orders, we can also provide custom silicone colors at no extra charge, so we encourage anyone interested to plan ahead and start talking with our sales team today.\u2028


Will you reserve or hold inventory for my upcoming event or sale?

When you start working with our sales team, they can give you an idea of our current inventory levels of the products you are interested in. Due to our volume of orders, that inventory is not considered claimed or scheduled in our system until the artwork approval (design and ink color/s) has been confirmed, cup size/s and color/s are final, and payment methods have been approved. Once all of these pieces are in place, we allocate the inventory available in our warehouses specifically to your order and give you a ship date.

What payment methods do you take for customized orders?

At the time of order placement, we ask for your credit card number to be authorized for the order. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We also accept Check by Mail. Credit cards are not charged until the order ships, upon invoicing. \u2028

Can I buy on terms for my custom order?

We offer terms to existing customers with a great payment history. For large volume orders please contact our sales team for more information.

Artwork

What are the artwork requirements to create a customized or personalized Silipint?

Artwork must be supplied as camera-ready. Camera-ready artwork is defined as a black and white color separated positive image with clean sharp lines that do not require any alterations. Photocopies, faxed art, sketches, stationery, business cards, and other printed products are not considered camera-ready and may be subject to an art charge. Silipint reserves the right to reject any art that is not considered camera-ready.

Converting art that is not camera-ready will be charged at an hourly rate of $60.00. Art charges will be quoted before production as required. If not specified, art size and placement will be shown per the recommendation of Silipint’s graphic design team.\u2028 

Accepted file formats: An Adobe Illustrator (.AI) or vector-ready (.EPS) artwork file is required. All text must be outlined or the font file must be included. All images outlined to paths or curves.\u2028

Will we see a proof prior to production?

Absolutely, we provide a free digital proof of your artwork on any style of cup and color, plus one round of revisions. Our sales team will be in communication with you to acquire your artwork and note any specific requirements, including ink color, facilitating communication with our graphic designers. We typically have 24-hour turnarounds for digital proofs. If you’d like to see more than one revision, subsequent digital proofs or revisions will incur additional minimum charges of $5 each. 

We can also provide graphic design services for logo translation into one-color, or from-scratch creations. 

Where do you place the logo for custom artwork?

For all one-sided artwork, your mark is always placed opposite the Silipint logo. For all two-sided artwork, the Silipint logo ends up between the two marks. For all wrap artwork, the Silipint logo is at the back ½” seam of the artwork. 

Shipping

Where and how do you ship custom wholesale or promotional orders?

For custom mid-volume orders (typically between 72-1,008 units, we ship FOB Bend, Oregon 97702 via UPS Ground service. We also ship from our second warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Shipping charges will be quoted at the time of order placement.

We also accept third-party UPS or FedEx account numbers for Wholesale, Promotional and Distributor accounts when you provide a valid account number for us.\u2028

Large volume orders over 1,008 units typically ship via Freight FOB Bend, OR. We can quote this service for you using our preferred vendors or help to facilitate using your own shipping methods.\u2028

Where is my tracking? Will I know when my order ships?

You will be notified via email when your order ships and your tracking number will be included at that time. History

How did you get started?

Rick Fredland, CEO and Founder of Silipint, created the first silicone pint glass in existence in 2010. Always the inventor, Rick had already created the world’s first silicone dog bowl – the Tazlab Aqua-Fur in his previous business. Looking for new ways to promote this product at pet industry trade shows, he wanted to draw people into his booth by serving beer at a trade show. When he went to order some, he found an incredible hole in the drinkware market. The simple, durable yet versatile silicone material, he thought, would make a perfect pint “glass.” 

Today, Silipint has expanded to different silhouettes, with the pint serving as inspiration for future innovations.

Quality, Warranty & Returns

We are dedicated to making the most durable, highest quality merchandise. If you feel your Silipint(s) are defective, let us make it right. We will replace defective Silipints or give you credit within 30 days of your order. Replacement and/or credit is limited to the invoice cost of the item, does not include shipping charges, and we cannot reproduce custom cups that you got at an event with the exact same artwork. We promise to do our very best to make this right. 

Returns & Exchanges

If you would like to return your Silipint order, you can do so within 30 days of receipt of your order. We will facilitate returns, exchanges or credits as needed.
