Bend, Oregon is known as a place for people who love the outdoors. Kayaking, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing…people in Central Oregon love to get out on the rivers, in the woods and into the mountains. It’s no coincidence that Silipints were born in a place with such a strong focus on shredding, pursuing powder, pinning turns and red-pointing. After all, if you love the outdoors and the environment, a Silipint is a great way to show that love. Add the fact that Bend also loves beer … well, it was bound to work out.

As you’re shopping for your unbreakable Silipint gifts this year, you’re also helping support Silipint to make a contribution to the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Starting on Black Friday, through December 31st, 2018, 5% of our total sales on Silipint.com will be donated to the organization. In our efforts to encourage resourcefulness through the simplicity of an unbreakable and reusable silicone cup, we found a natural alignment with the Leave No Trace education mission.
It’s almost that time of year again when the morning air is just a little colder and you’d rather spend a few extra minutes inside. According to Use Less Stuff, they report that from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day, Americans throw away 25% more trash. If that’s not scary enough, that number equivocates to an extra 25 million tons of garbage. Yikes! So, what can you do about that? Adopt a few eco-friendly habits to keep in mind during this holiday season. With all the holiday parties, gift exchanges, and how you spend the holiday weekend, there are a lot of opportunities to be more resourceful and help to reduce or eliminate waste.
Our kitchen cabinets are filled with options to mix, bake, and store our food and drinks in. So, how the heck are we supposed to choose one product from another? Well, let’s start with ditching the plastics. Besides their unstable nature of leaching toxins into our food and drinks, they last for minimal uses and then end up in our oceans and landfills, bringing harm to our wildlife and our atmosphere.Read More
In the category of necessary first world objects, cup lids rank pretty high. Think about it… The dreadful spill of hot coffee down your newly laundered shirt and drive-through drinks draining onto your kiddo’s car seat are not awesome. But you know what else is not awesome? The 1.5 billion (yes, with a B) plastic drink lids that get used and tossed every single year in the United States alone. Sure, they cover up what fills up your cup, but they also fill up our landfills pretty darn quick. So what to do about this cup cover conundrum?
